This is why they call them the "Rocky Mountains!"

Well I had to work the 25th at 6am. We rounded up cows and calves in Wyoming, near Cheyenne. We weaned the calves and loaded them onto semi-trailers to come back to ARDEC. The cows were palpated to see if they were pregnant. We also brought the two bulls back to ARDEC. I finally got home around 3. It was a long, hot day. However, the morning was extremely cold and foggy!

Happy Birthday Thom and Ryan-the 27th!

On the 28th I had a meeting at 7am for Little National Western. We are getting things ready for sign-up, the day of committee and publicity. Happy Birthday Carrie and Andrew!

On the 29th I lost a dear friend. David Witte was like a grandpa to me. He was always willing to help with anything. The times spent with him and Gloria at jack pot shows, state fair, county fair and many mornings spent at Tee Jayes will be remembered fondly. There was also the Annual College of Ag Back to School BBQ. Free food-what more could a college kid ask for?!

The 30th: Carrie arrived in Denver around 11:30.

The 31st: We spent time around Fort Collins. We ate at Gibs NY Bagels- the first place we ate in Fort Collins nearly three years ago! Then we had gelato-a first for me and many more times to come! Friday night we made our way to Estes Park. We meandered through the town and ate at Village Pizza. Raspberry Vinaigrette Pizza is pretty tasty.

Saturday we got up and ate breakfast at The Egg and I. And no Carrie nor I eat eggs. We made our way into Rocky Mountain National Park and hiked about 8 miles. We ate supper at Grumpy Gringo's and then went Put-Putting. Unfortunately Carrie won and that meant I had to buy Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Mmmmmm :)

Sunday we got up early and had coffee at Kind Coffee. As we left town we saw a huge bull elk grazing in the middle of town. We then headed to the Stables and went on a horseback ride into the park. We saw a young elk, but that way the only wildlife. We left town and made our way into Loveland to hit up the Outlets. We made it back to my condo and then went for supper at Noodles and Company. To wear off some of dinner we drove over to Horsetooth Reservoir and looked out on the town. We enjoyed ice cream and watched a movie.

Monday we headed down to Denver and watched the Rockies play San Francisco after getting mani's and pedi's. Then we walked down 16th Street Mall to the Civic Center and walked around the Taste of Colorado. Then unfortunately time has passed too quickly and it ws time to take Carrie back to DIA. I made my way back home and crashed.

Tuesday is back to school. Work and then more free food- Block and Bridle welcome back BBQ/meeting.

Wednesday- Happy Birthday Rachel!

Classes the rest of the week, work on Thursday and maybe Friday and the weekend, first Ambassadors meeting Wednesday, fixing my rear view mirror- it fell off! Just also trying to get some things caught up and cleaned up.

I also got a ski/snowboarding pass to Breckenridge, Keystone and A-Basin. I have discounted lift tickets to Vail also! I am very excited to start the season, it should be fun!

Anna, I had the BEST time with you this past weekend! We had so much fun and did so many new, cool things. I love spending time with you and traveling with you. Now it's our tradition to spend Thanksgiving AND Labor Day together. I can't wait to see you in Costa Rica in two months. Lots and lots of love, Carrie
